Pick a Class Schedule That Works for You
Traditional (15 Weeks)
- How it works: Unless the class is online at your own pace, you will meet 1 to 3 times each week. The class moves at a steady speed.
- How much work: For a traditional 3 credit course, you should expect around 6 hours of independent studying each week.
- What it feels like: This is a typical college class. You follow a regular routine and complete your work in smaller amounts over a longer time.
Semi-Accelerated (13 Weeks)
- How it works: These classes start two weeks later than traditional ones. You will usually attend one longer class each week. Most of your learning and homework will happen around that day.
- How much work: For an semi-accelerated 3 credit course, you should expect around 6 to 7 hours of independent studying each week.
- What it feels like: You spend more time in class on one day.
Accelerated (6-7 Weeks)
- How it works: These classes move very fast and cover the same material in less time. Unless the class is online at your own pace, you may meet more often or for longer class sessions each week.
- How much work: For an accelerated 3 credit course, you should expect around 15 hours of independent studying each week.
- What it feels like: This is a fast-paced class. You may take fewer classes at once, but you will spend more time on each one. You will need to set aside sufficient time each week to keep up.
